Sustainability Research Case Studies

Case 1: We carried out a major participatory research project in Southeast Asia evaluating a United Nations sustainable development project. Our on-the-ground research challenged previous evaluations and resulted in immediate changes to the program to make it more sustainable and responsive to community needs.

Case 2: We conducted an industry-wide research project assessing consumer trust of on-line vendors and identified policy prescriptions for on-line privacy codes of conduct. The results of this research were used to develop voluntary initiatives within the industry.

“Companies that are breaking the mold are moving beyond corporate social responsibility to social innovation. These companies are the vanguard of the new paradigm. They view community needs as opportunities to develop ideas and demonstrate business technologies, to find and serve new markets, and to solve longstanding business problems.” -  Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Harvard Business Review.
